- Job Description
- The Job Shop Operator maintains a clean, organized, and member-ready work area while supporting production activities in the wet pack area. This role focuses on coordinating material flow, assisting with production planning, and overseeing a small team to ensure accurate inventory documentation, precise measurements, and on-time, error-free shipments.
- Responsibilities
- + Maintain a clean, neat, and member-ready work area at all times.
+ Support the wet pack area by starting up and organizing the work area at the beginning of shifts.
+ Assist with production planning for materials in the wet pack area to ensure efficient workflow.
+ Oversee 12 team members involved in inventory documentation and material handling.
+ Perform accurate inventory documentation, including tracking, recording, and updating material data.
+ Use a tape measure to measure materials precisely to ensure correct dimensions for shipments.
+ Verify that all measured materials meet required specifications before shipping.
+ Operate machines and equipment safely and efficiently as part of daily production activities.
+ Perform data entry tasks in spreadsheets or systems, including entering measurements, counts, and production information.
+ Use Excel or similar tools to record, organize, and review production and inventory data.
+ Monitor material levels and communicate any shortages or issues to the appropriate personnel.
+ Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
+ Demonstrate leadership by guiding and supporting 12 team members in daily tasks.
+ Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working in both indoor and outdoor areas as needed.
+ Assist with loading and unloading vehicles when required, including work at open bay doors.
- Essential Skills
- + Ability to use a tape measure accurately to measure materials.
+ Proficiency in basic data entry for recording measurements, inventory, and production information.
+ Ability to use Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for tracking data.
+ Experience in machine operation or machine operating in a production or similar environment.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills, which may come from retail, restaurant, bartending, or other general labor roles.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and documentation.
+ Ability to oversee and coordinate the work of 12 team members.
+ Capability to work 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and stay until 1:30 a.m. when overtime is required.
+ Flexibility to train on a 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. schedule and potentially work a mid-shift (10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) for 23 weeks as needed.
+ Willingness to work overtime when production needs increase, including extended weekday hours.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Background in retail management, restaurant work, bartending, or general labor that demonstrates strong leadership and teamwork.
+ Comfort working with basic computer applications and entering data accurately.
+ Ability to adapt to changing production demands and schedules, including potential overtime.
+ Strong work ethic and positive attitude toward learning and taking on new responsibilities.
+ Comfort working in environments that may include both indoor and outdoor tasks, such as loading and unloading vehicles.

- Work Environment
- The role is based in a temperature-controlled facility, with conditions kept as comfortable as reasonably possible given the presence of open bay doors.
You may work both inside the facility and outside when loading or unloading vehicles. The primary schedule is 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with the possibility of overtime extending the shift to 1:30 a.m. when production requires it. Initial training occurs on a 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. schedule, and there may be a temporary mid-shift (10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) for 23 weeks to align with existing operations. If overtime is scheduled, 1st shift typically works 45 hours on Saturdays, while 2nd shift extends Monday through Friday to 1:30 a.m. The environment involves regular use of measuring tools, machines, and computer systems, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organized work areas.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $18.
70 - $18.70/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
