Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to ensure proper safeguards, operation and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to provide a safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective operation.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
(not all inclusive):
  • Report to Assistant Plant Manager and Team Lead.
  • Assist in reporting and managing all production associate under their responsibility.
  • Shares accountability with Team Leader for your team's results and for the smooth running of the entire manufacturing process under your responsibility. Representative of the Management when they are not present at the plant and you are.

Safety:
  • Coaching and teaching to grow the safety value
  • Train to make sure everybody will be in compliance of safety rules and regulations
  • Shares responsibility with Team Leader for quality of product.
  • Shares responsibility with Team Leader for general supervision of production to include team productivity, set-up, machinery condition and housekeeping.
  • Assist in the direction of production team members to safely produce a high-quality, cost-efficient product every day in all situations.
  • Assists unloading bulk materials and verifies loads of raw materials coming in are of proper quantity and specifications.
  • Shares responsibility with Team Leader to ensure polystyrene system is operating correctly to expand beads to specification. Maintains adequate inventory of polystyrene.
  • Shares responsibility with Team Leader to stock production associates with mesh, edge mesh, wooden pallets, etc.
  • Shares responsibility with Team Leader verifying accuracy of all quality and production reports. Verifying production information is recorded properly, accurately and completely, including downtime and finished good.
  • Shares responsibility with Team Leader with training, coaching, and teaching production associates to achieve high performance levels in all the aspects (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Costs, housekeeping, etc.).
  • Assists with hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Works relief for team members break and lunch periods
  • Responsible for all team members meeting expectations and following all the Rules.
  • Walk the plant several times a day and stays in constant contact with all operators to ensure product specifications are being achieved.
  • Be a great leader. Lead by example. High level of soft skills for human interactions and relationship with all the associates. Engage in proper communication, including via email daily.
  • Act as a change agent for the ''One Team Culture Change''

  • Be accountable and respond to any email, meeting invites or calls in a timely manner.
  • Close collaboration with all other plant departments/functions (management, maintenance, shipping, HR, Safety, etc.).
  • Completes preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Completing monthly inspections in a timely manner.
  • Completing all daily paperwork fully, accurately, truthfully, and in a timely manner, including required production/environmental/safety shift paperwork.
  • Troubleshoots process and equipment and makes appropriate adjustments. Seek out for root causes, fix them (not the symptoms) to prevent to happen again as much as possible. Avoid patching or use of Band Aids. Use steppingstones only when necessary and only in a temporary period of time.
  • Ensures work areas and equipment are clean and orderly, following prescribed expectations, directives, rules or any regulations.
  • Keep inventory organized, requesting more supplies when low.
  • Monitors continuously operating system (Including data entries in computers, PLC and controllers) to ensure continuous flow of raw materials to production line such as sand, cement and other materials and notifies others (as maintenance) of any problems with flow.
  • All forklift inspection and loader inspections are completed and turned in as expected.
  • Performs special assignments by Assistant Plant Manager and/or Plant Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A strong commitment and focus on safety with zero tolerance for short cuts.
  • Self-directed individual. Ability to work with minimal supervision and achieve results.
  • Efficient at monitors continuously operating system (Including data entries in computers, PLC and controllers) to ensure continuous flow of raw materials to production line such as sand, cement and other materials and notifies others (as maintenance) of any problems with flow.
  • Efficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong root cause analysis with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, team development skills with a desire to lead with team input
  • Strong leadership abilities resulting in a productive and driven team environment
  • Positive, passionate, dynamic, team player with managerial courage.
  • Adaptability, open mind, positive attitude, solutions oriented and versatility
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
