Shop Hand - Metal Fabrication Silver Star Industries, Inc - 3.7 North Bonneville, WA Job Details Full-time $19 - $22 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Measuring tapes Shop math Manufacturing facility experience Dimensional measurements Power tools Materials handling Manufacturing Hand tools Full Job Description This position supports daily operations in our metal fabrication shop by maintaining a clean and organized workspace, operating basic shop equipment, preparing and cleaning parts, and assisting fabricators with general production tasks. This is a hands-on position for a dependable, safety-minded person who is willing to learn and contribute wherever needed. Essential Responsibilities Keep shop floors, work areas, aisles, and common spaces clean, orderly, and free of hazards. Sweep floors; collect scraps and dispose of waste in designated containers; and organize tools, materials, and supplies. Safely operate basic shop machinery and tools, including a chop saw and drill press, after receiving appropriate training and authorization. Measure, mark, cut, drill, deburr, grind, and otherwise prepare materials as directed. Clean finished and in-process parts by removing oil, debris, sharp edges, and residue. Stage materials and parts for fabrication, welding, finishing, assembly, or shipment. Assist fabricators and other shop personnel with material handling and general production tasks. Inspect tools and equipment before use and promptly report damage, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs. Follow work instructions, shop procedures, and applicable quality standards. Perform other shop duties as assigned to support safe and efficient operations. Minimum Qualifications Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and ask questions when clarification is needed. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn safe shop practices. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math; training may be provided. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Prior experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or mechanical environment is helpful but not required.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
