Food Production Worker/ Commissary Prep Cook/ Sales/ Customer Relations TFE is a 12 year old business that continues to grow. We produce cold brew coffee, kombucha, energy balls, pizzas and pasties. In the next year we aim to add protein patties, pickled goods and any other value added items required by our farmer friends. We are in search of a few qualified folks to join us in the kitchen for food production and research and development; and on the road to obtain more retail customers and grow relationships with farmers around the state. Kitchen:

This role primarily consists of repetitive work. Rolling balls, topping pizzas, pasty and patty production, and bottling/kegging beverages. As folks become more integrated in our work and want to learn recipes, they will have to sign an NDA with a Confidentiality and Intellectual Property Agreement. Road:

This role primarily consists of sales and procuring new clients. New clients can be corner stores, groceries, restaurants, cafes and office buildings. Another branch of this position is to meet with farmers in the state to offer value added products to their growing season, farmers market or farm store. This could be pickling their beets, freezing their spinach for a CSA or fruiting a kombucha with our methods, to name a few.

Responsibilities:

With all of our staff we expect clear communication and compassion when dealing with each other or customers. We work in the Belleville Piggly Wiggly and get along great with their kind staff. It is important we maintain professional relationships with these folks.

In the kitchen:

folks will be responsible for understanding food safety practices (mandatory training) and proper body mechanics for production. Day to day work can look like standing or sitting in one spot for long periods. Regular cleaning is definitely part of the job. Being able to lift 50 pounds is not required but a definite bonus. It is important that staff arrive in clean work clothing with hair fastened back and closed toed shoes. Reading comprehension and the ability to follow direction is a must. On the

Road:

Folks will be responsible for maintaining a valid drivers license and clean driving record. This is a customer facing position so having customer service skills is a must.

Qualifications:

At TFE we think anyone with the right energy can be trained to do any position within the business. It is important that folks can read and follow directions. Having some knowledge or the ability to learn about attachment strategies and the drama triangle are a must. We love to protect our peace. Compensation:

Everyone starts at $15/hr during the training period. Ideally we like to pay people $20/hr and will do so when you can fly free on tasks. Salaries beyond $20/hr will be assessed as folks consider longevity with the business.

Hours:

Times and days are flexible once you are proficient in skills. We want you to show up at your best so will work around your schedule within reason. There are no mandatory days or times. Our working schedule heavily mimics that of the school district, when our kids are off, we are at home with them. Summers do require some creativity and we would like anyone on our team to be able to commit to some summer hours as this is a high coffee season for us. TFE is an equal opportunity employer.
