The Production Assistant performs a vital customer service function and is instrumental in order to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Position requires the Production Assistant to communicate using telephone, fax and E-mail. Duties include processing and expediting customer orders, follow-up on problems, verifying stock, processing requotes, performing various administrative tasks and providing support and assistance to the Plant 1 shipping/receiving/ material handling departments. Also performs back-up receptionist duties as needed. The Production Assistant will be communicating with a wide and diverse group of internal and external customers. The Production Assistant is required to perform other duties as assigned by the company.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives and responds to all customer inquiries and complaints. Performs a variety of administrative duties such as processing monitoring customer orders, maintain required production records, maintain customer files, follow ISO procedures and perform other administrative tasks as required. Provides prompt customer service and tracks orders and communicates via phone, FAX and written communication as necessary. Effectively interacts with Plant 1 Shipping and receiving department personnel to ensure that the proper paperwork has been generated for the shipment and delivery via UPS and common carrier of products and parts to vendors and customers. Performs a variety of clerical functions including filing, data entry, answering telephones and performing back-up receptionist duties. Interacts with purchasing department by contacting vendors to verify receipt and status of materials. Verifies purchase order pricing for the purchasing and accounting departments. Prepares requests for customer quotes and maintains and keeps customer records current. Generates EDI's and related documents as required. Places job orders when necessary and follows up on the process of jobs on the production floor. Adheres to departmental and company workplace safety rules and wears appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). Performs other duties as assigned by the company.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Possesses demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers and plant floor personnel. Possesses demonstrated ability and knowledge of computers and various record systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years' production or clerical experience. Keyboarding skills of 40 WPM and ability to 10 key efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to twist, bend, reach, climb, stand or sit as job requires. Must adhere to safety rules and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Must understand and adhere to all applicable procedures and work instructions as defined in the Wisco Quality Management System. Must understand and properly execute any applicable tasks required in the Wisco Manufacturing System. Must be able to effectively interact with other departmental personnel and exchange pertinent information. Reliability and responsibility are important elements considered in this position. Due to the critical nature of this position in the flow of manufacturing, above average attendance and work record are required.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
