They may develop and review quality and safety policies and manage audits by third-party inspectors. The Manager is responsible for training quality assurance employees and overseeing manufacturing and production processes, while simultaneously ensuring the laboratory is operating in an efficient and safe manner.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Conduct Audits to ensure food safety and quality, manage and mentor other quality employees.
Support and maintain the Food Safety programs and HACCP, staying alert to changing requirements and responding in kind
Drafting of new and revised Food Safety policies and; procedures to meet the Food Safety program.
Responsible for developing and training Food Safety SOP's, or Standard Operating Procedures
Responsible for GMP's and Food Safety training.
May cover the production floor as needed to provide additional support in real time on the line
Working with the other Quality employees to manage and maintain laboratory equipment
Aid the management and leadership in evaluating compliance to SOP's and quality standards, offering best practices and ideas.
Ensure all sanitation is complete and properly meets quality standards.
Lead risk assessment analysis throughout the plant; ensure proper operation of the Quality Laboratory equipment.
GFCO
Maintain BRC (GFSI), FDA , CDPH or any other food safety regulation or third party certification updated
Maintain SAP system up to date
Maintain USDA Organic Certifications
Perform all other duties as assigned Competencies/SuccessFactors for the role

Associates degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Engineering, Biology, Chemist or Food Sciences. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Food/Beverage manufacturing industry preferred
Clear understanding and working knowledge of process and compliance quality systems
Strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills
BRC, SQF, HACCP, ISO, FDA, CDPH, OSHA
compliance audits experience
Experience leading developing teams; providing mentorship to subordinates
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrated success in using technology and accurate documentation skills Requirements
Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
Must be able to operate machinery and lift, bend, stoop and reach
Must operate in a safe manner at all times
Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
Must be able to communicate effectively with others
