Kaiser Permanente's Construction Department has an immediate opening in the Marin Sonoma Service Area for an experienced Quality Control Coordinator. Responsible for the successful administration of all aspects of the Construction Quality Control Program management. The Quality Control Coordinator's responsibilities include inspecting materials, processes, and products, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards and regulations, implementing quality management actions, and contributing to the development of company policies and procedures. The Quality Control Coordinator provides quality support to projects from the planning phase to project completion within their assigned Service Area. As the Quality Control Coordinator, you should be able to ensure that all materials, processes, and procedures meet regulatory and quality standards, and promptly resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating trade Subcontractor's compliance with Contractor's Quality Control Plan specified in the Subcontractor Master Agreement (SWA) and that they perform all the activities, tasks, and obligations and that all required documentation and submittal processes are completed to ensure that specified products are installed, and workmanship standards are being implemented. - Minimum High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent, OR equivalent combination of education and experience in Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive construction coordination or supervisory experience in general construction industry and construction management with a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing construction activities for health care facilities or similar technical environment.
- USACE Quality Control Certification preferred (Employer will provide Certificate course training)
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code 101, OSHA, CAL-OSHA, HCAI/OSHPD, State Fire Marshall, UBC, ADA, Title 24 & state and local regulatory building codes.
- Extensive knowledge of design, construction, contracting, project management and engineering principles along with in-depth knowledge of health facilities.
- High-level communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external partners.
- Ability to problem solve through construction issues and overcome obstacles.
- Experience in creating/managing/utilizing/tracking/executing the project.
- Microsoft Project and spreadsheet proficiency.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written and excellent communication skills a MUST.

- Implement and maintain the approved Contractor Quality Control Plan, including responsibility for all required Preparatory meetings, Initial inspections, and Follow-up inspections.
- Develop understanding/working knowledge of Contractor Quality Control Plan, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work.
- Assist in the selection of qualified, quality-oriented subcontractors that strive for Zero Defects.
- Ensure that self-performed workmanship adheres to the contract documents, meet performance requirements, and ensure all Quality Control, reporting, and testing documentation is properly implemented.
- Track mock-ups (where specified), field and factory testing, commissioning activities, deficiencies, punch lists, and re-work requirements for all trades/areas.
- Review, comment upon and control design and product submittal process. Track submittals (products, shop drawings, etc.) to ensure on-time delivery to the project team and compliance with the project's specifications.
- Maintain adequate documentation for post-construction inspections, warranty work and maintenance.
- Plan, schedule and run Preparatory Meetings.
- Act as the company's Agent at Construction Quality Control and Assurance meetings, and attend Preparatory, Initial and Follow-up contractor's quality control (CQC) meetings.
- Perform quality control inspections and witness tests to determine acceptability of work.
- Assist with schedules and directly coordinate with the NIS QA/IOR, independent testing agencies, OSHPD, City Inspectors, and Subcontractors to ensure all Quality Control, reporting, and testing documentation is properly implemented. coordinates QA inspectors with Const.
- Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents.
- Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
- Participate in internal/external quality control audits.
- Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
- Inspect and inventory material shipments for compliance.
- Ensure progress by proactively address Q.C. issues.
- Quality Control Coordinator will ensure compliance of this Program via Performance Metrics as well as facilitate necessary training to both Subcontractors and Trade Labor Staff.
- Establish trust and partnership with regulatory agency representatives by demonstrating delivery of high-quality construction and code compliance. Environment
- Office and construction worksites. Must be able to work shiftwork, overtime, and under pressure of deadlines. May require travel to other medical service areas. Must be able to work in a matrixed environment. Must be able to work in a union environment. Physical Requirements
- Must be able to validate work in place which may include climbing a ladder, crawling in above ceiling places, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting load of twenty-five pounds.
