Caterpillar is seeking a 3rd Shift Fabrications Quality Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you collaborate with the 3rd Shift Assembly team in maintaining and improving processes and systems in the fabrications of the products produced on the Hydraulic Excavators line. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on fabrications requirements What you can look forward to in this role: Determines processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements. Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned. Ensures the quality of product produced and conforms to Caterpillars Quality Policy while maintaining cost. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS/ISO certification, etc. A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
Quality Management:
Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Problem Solving :
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Quality Risk Management:
Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for Quality Risk Management; ability to implement the quality assurance process of assessment, control, communication, and review of risks to the quality of products. Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences. Top Candidates for this position may also have: Welding inspection or fabrications experience. Some leadership experience Machining experience. SAP experience.

The primary location for this position is Athens, GA. Domestic relocation assistance is available There is an 8% Shift differential in salary This is Third shift Sunday night to Friday morning Sponsorship is not available
Summary Pay Range:
$81,370.00 - $122,060.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
