The Quality Team Lead will oversee employees who inspect, sort, rework, and verify the quality of incoming and outgoing materials. This person will be a strong advocate for quality and will help ensure that our team consistently meets customer requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong attention to detail , excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to keep a team organized and productive in a fast-paced environment. Position Overview This position may work at various customer locations , with the majority of the work currently focused on leading our team at a customer location in Romulus, MI . An important part of this position will also be traveling to the Ford Sterling Axle Plant (FSA) when new jobs or inspection projects are launched. The ability to travel to customer locations as needed is an important requirement of this position. Responsibilities Lead and supervise quality inspection and sorting teams Follow specific work instructions and customer requirements Inspect materials and parts for defects and non-conformances Identify, document, and report defective parts Perform sorting, inspection, rework, and repackaging activities Ensure team members are following proper work procedures Monitor team performance and maintain an efficient workflow Complete accurate daily reports and communicate results to management Assist with setting up new inspection processes with direction from the customer and management Use strong problem-solving skills to address quality issues Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members Maintain a safe and professional work environment Ensure proper PPE is worn, including safety glasses and safety vests when working inside the FSA Plant Qualifications Previous quality inspection, sorting, manufacturing, automotive, or team leadership experience preferred Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues Reliable and dependable attendance Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment Ability to give direction and lead a team effectively Comfortable working in different customer locations as needed Ability to follow detailed instructions and customer-specific requirements Must be willing to work hands-on alongside the team What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and confident leading a team .
