Job Description
Quality Assurance Coordinator About the Role The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports the company's food safety and quality programs by maintaining quality documentation, coordinating audit activities, supporting corrective and preventive actions, monitoring quality performance, and assisting with supplier and customer compliance requirements. This role works closely with Production and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies, customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and SQF standards while promoting continuous improvement throughout the organization. Key responsibilities & required skills Aid in developing, maintaining, and updating quality management system (QMS) documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and quality manuals Assist in scheduling, conducting, and documenting internal audits against SQF standard, regulatory, customers and other third-party audits. Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes by assigning owners, setting deadlines, and verifying root cause analysis. Monitor key quality metrics — defect rates, customer complaints, first-pass yield — and present trend reports to management monthly Assist in facilitating external audits by regulatory bodies or certification registrars, preparing evidence packages and documentation. Train employees across departments on quality procedures, document control requirements, and nonconformance reporting protocols Request, review incoming supplier documentation including certificates of conformance, test reports, and supplier corrective action responses. This includes new suppliers'/ ingredients approval and existing suppliers'/ingredients verification activities. Manage the document control system to ensure only current revisions are in use, and obsolete versions are properly archived or destroyed Support customer complaints investigation and nonconformances by gathering production records, interviewing personnel, and coordinating disposition decisions Support new product or process launches by reviewing quality plans, first-article inspection reports, and process validation protocols Other duties may include but not limited to collecting swabs / samples for testing, production line monitoring and inspection, ordering and maintaining lab supplies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science or a related field with 2+ years in food safety and quality experience. Associate's degrees in science may be considered with 3+ years in food safety and quality experience. HACCP certified preferred or being able to obtain a HACCP certification within the first 6 months of hiring. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for quality data trending and reporting. Knowledge of other Microsoft office applications preferred. Attention to details and collaborative with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, or ambient warehouse environments when required. Benefits Wage
