Quality Inspector - Precision Machined Components Position Summary Day Shift 5:00a.m. - 1:30p.m. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring precision machined components meet customer, engineering, regulatory, and quality system requirements. This position performs first article, in-process, and final inspections utilizing advanced metrology equipment including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and FARO Portable Measurement Arms. The ideal candidate possesses strong GD&T knowledge, blueprint interpretation skills, and experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components in aerospace, defense, medical, or high-precision manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision machined components. Conduct dimensional verification of complex machined features using CMMs, FARO Arms, and conventional inspection equipment. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T in accordance with

ASME Y14.5

standards. Perform layout inspections and validate critical dimensions, datums, profiles, true position, flatness, perpendicularity, concentricity, and other geometric tolerances.

Utilize metrology equipment including:

Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) FARO Portable Measurement Arms Calipers Micrometers Height Gauges Bore Gauges Thread Gauges Pin Gauges Optical Comparators Surface Plates Surface Finish Measurement Equipment Generate and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Review manufacturing documentation including work orders, inspection plans, material certifications, and process certifications. Identify nonconforming product and initiate containment, disposition, and corrective action activities. Assist Engineering and Manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives. Support internal audits, customer audits, and quality management system requirements. Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation. Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and company quality procedures. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years of quality inspection experience in a CNC machining, aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience operating CMMs and/or FARO Portable Measurement Arms. Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional inspection principles. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications. Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment. Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience programming CMM inspection routines. Experience with FARO CAM2, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent metrology software. AS9100 and/or

ISO 9001

quality system experience. AS9102 First Article Inspection experience. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification. Experience supporting aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or medical device manufacturing. Knowledge of SPC, MSA, PPAP, and CAPA methodologies. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Frequent handling and inspection of machined components. Ability to distinguish fine dimensional features, surface finish requirements, and workmanship defects. Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Pay:

$27.00 - $35.00 per hour
