CNC Quality Inspector Job Type:

Manufacturing / CNC Machining Job Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Quality Inspector to ensure precision-machined parts meet exact design specifications and quality standards. This position will perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material verification and first article inspection through final dimensional inspection. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of precision measurement, blueprint reading, GD&T, CNC machining processes, and quality control methods. Key Responsibilities Inspect precision-machined parts to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and tolerances. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) before production runs. Review CAD models and drawings to identify tight tolerances, complex geometries, and potential manufacturing concerns. Verify raw materials and material certifications before production. Perform in-process inspections to identify dimensional or quality issues. Monitor tooling and track tool wear that could affect part quality. Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment . Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect complex geometries and tight tolerances. Perform on-machine probing and dimensional checks when applicable. Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation. Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor production trends and identify process drift. Communicate quality issues to machinists, supervisors, and manufacturing personnel. Help identify root causes of defects and support corrective actions. Ensure finished products meet customer and engineering requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area. Required Qualifications Previous experience in CNC machining quality inspection or precision manufacturing. Strong understanding of machining processes and dimensional tolerances. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T . Experience using precision inspection tools such as: Calipers Micrometers Height gauges Gauges CMM equipment Ability to accurately measure tight-tolerance components. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer skills for entering and documenting inspection data. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CMM programming or operation . Experience with SPC and statistical quality control . Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) . Experience with on-machine probing. Experience working with CAD models. Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection documentation. Experience in a high-precision CNC manufacturing environment. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working closely with CNC machinists and manufacturing teams. This person should be able to identify dimensional issues early, accurately document inspection results, and help maintain consistent production quality.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
