Job Description

About the Role As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards required for precision components within the aerospace and defense sectors. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure product integrity, drive compliance, and foster a culture of quality excellence from the ground up. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to guarantee strict adherence to technical specifications. Conduct detailed visual assessments to identify surface irregularities and ensure flawless product finishes. Manage the calibration and maintenance of precision measurement equipment to ensure accurate data collection. Develop standardized work instructions and inspection protocols to streamline quality assurance workflows. Compile and verify First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and Certificates of Conformance for customer delivery. Facilitate root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality discrepancies and improve manufacturing outcomes. Provide technical guidance to production staff, promoting ownership of quality standards throughout the fabrication process. Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or manufacturing within a CNC machining environment. Advanced proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings and applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5) principles. Hands-on expertise with mechanical inspection tools, including micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges. Proven track record of performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and managing quality documentation. Must be a US Person as defined by ITAR regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement. Preferred Skills Direct experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). In-depth knowledge of AS9100 or
ISO 9001
quality management systems. Working familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and tolerance stack-up analysis. Experience utilizing 5-Why or similar structured problem-solving methodologies.
