This position works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Service, and Supply Chain to ensure processes are clearly documented, requirements are understood, and established Quality controls are consistently applied. The Quality Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining standard work, SOPs, checklists, forms, inspection documents, and other Quality documentation. The role also performs scheduled process audits, maintains Quality records and data, supports corrective action activities, and assists with implementation of Quality and process improvements as directed by the Quality Engineer. This position is focused on process standardization, documentation, auditing, coordination, and proactive Quality support . The Quality Coordinator does not independently own Quality strategy, systemic corrective actions, root-cause determination, supplier Quality, or major process improvement decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Standard Work & Quality Documentation Develop and revise SOPs, standard work instructions (SWIs), checklists, forms, inspection documents, job aids, and other Quality documentation. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated information within existing documentation and bring them to the attention of the Quality Engineer. Maintain Quality documentation to ensure current revisions are available at the appropriate points of use. Support document control activities including revision tracking, approvals, distribution, and removal of obsolete documents. Assist with implementation and communication of new or revised standard work and Quality requirements. Process Auditing Perform scheduled process audits on the production floor using established audit criteria, checklists, and requirements. Verify that employees are following approved standard work, inspection requirements, and established process controls. Document audit results, findings, and opportunities for improvement. Communicate audit findings to the appropriate process owner and Quality Engineer. Track assigned audit actions and follow up on completion. Escalate recurring or significant audit findings to the Quality Engineer for further evaluation. Quality Data & Records Maintain accurate and timely Quality records, including inspection, audit, NCR, corrective action, and other Quality information. Maintain organized records to support Quality analysis, corrective actions, audits, and management reporting. Identify missing, inconsistent, or incomplete Quality information and work with the appropriate personnel to correct records. Problem-Solving & Corrective Action Support Support Quality investigations by gathering information, records, photographs, measurements, and other requested evidence. Assist with containment activities and implementation of corrective actions as directed by the Quality Engineer. Document corrective action activities and maintain associated records. Coordinate assigned corrective action tasks with responsible departments and follow up on completion. Assist with verification of completed actions using established requirements or direction from the Quality Engineer. Identify recurring issues or patterns and communicate them to the Quality Engineer for further evaluation. Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Service, and Supply Chain to coordinate assigned Quality activities. Process Improvement Support Support implementation of process improvements identified and approved by the Quality Engineer or appropriate process owner. Assist with updating standard work, checklists, inspection requirements, and other documentation following approved process changes. Help establish visual controls, job aids, and other tools that improve process consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience in manufacturing, vehicle upfitting, automotive, RV, fabrication, specialty vehicle, or a similar production environment. Experience creating, maintaining, or working with SOPs, work instructions, checklists, forms, or other process documentation. Ability to perform structured process audits and objectively document results. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through. Ability to accurately maintain records and enter data into Excel, QMS software, or similar business systems. Ability to read and follow drawings, diagrams, work instructions, specifications, and established process requirements. Ability to work independently on assigned activities while effectively coordinating with multiple departments. Ability to identify problems, document facts, and appropriately escalate issues. Preferred Experience in mobile upfitting, RV, automotive service, or specialty vehicle manufacturing. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and document control. Experience with process auditing, corrective action documentation, or Quality data management. Familiarity with calibration systems and measurement equipment. Experience developing standard work, visual controls, checklists, or other process documentation.
