Job Description

ABICOR Binzel USA, Inc., a welding equipment manufacturer located in Frederick, MD, is recruiting for a Quality Coordinator. The Quality Coordinator supports the company's quality program across production, warehouse, shipping, and other applicable business processes. This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day quality activities, maintaining the Quality Management System, performing and supporting product and process inspections, managing the internal audit program, tracking nonconformances and corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Coordinator works closely with Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Customer Service, management, and other departments to identify and resolve quality issues, maintain compliance with established requirements, and support product quality and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
Quality Control & Support Perform and coordinate incoming, in-process, and final product inspections as needed. Verify products meet applicable specifications, drawings, work instructions, and customer requirements. Identify, document, and coordinate the disposition of nonconforming material. Assist Production, Warehouse, and other departments with resolving day-to-day quality issues. Support calibration and control of inspection and measuring equipment. Provide quality-related guidance and training to employees as needed. Quality Management System & Internal Audits Maintain quality procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and document control processes. Serve as the primary internal auditor and coordinate the internal audit program, including maintaining the audit schedule and conducting required audits. Document and communicate audit findings and track related corrective actions through completion. Maintain audit and quality training records and identify recurring or systemic issues for management review. Support customer and third-party audits and the development of additional internal auditors as needed. Nonconformance, Corrective Action & Customer Quality Maintain and track internal and external nonconformances, customer complaints, and corrective actions. Coordinate investigations and root cause analysis with applicable departments. Track corrective actions through completion and verify effectiveness as appropriate. Assist with customer quality concerns and preparation of corrective action responses. Monitor recurring quality issues and communicate significant trends to management. Quality Metrics & Continuous Improvement Collect, maintain, and report key quality performance indicators, including customer complaints, defects, nonconformances, rework, audit findings, and corrective actions. Analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Work with Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Customer Service, and other departments to improve product quality and processes. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, strengthening processes, and improving customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Required 2-5 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, assembly, or a related environment. Experience with quality systems, product inspection, or quality documentation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to objectively evaluate processes and documentation against established requirements. Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to document findings clearly and professionally. Ability to investigate problems and follow issues through resolution. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels of the organization. Preferred Associate degree or higher in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field. Experience working within an
ISO 9001
Quality Management System.
ISO 9001
Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training. Previous experience conducting internal quality audits. Experience with corrective action and root cause analysis. Experience with measuring and inspection equipment. Experience in a light manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or distribution environment.

Work Environment:
This position works in a production, warehouse, and office environment. The Quality Coordinator should be comfortable regularly working throughout the facility, interacting directly with employees and managers, observing processes, reviewing records, and investigating quality and compliance issues.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
