Quality Technician Liberty Plastics - Baldwyn vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, tuition assistance, 401(k), profit sharing United States, Mississippi, Baldwyn 1154 North 2nd Street (Show on map) Jul 19, 2026 Description Our Quality Technician is a key contributor to the organization, supporting teams across all business functions to ensure excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement within our manufacturing operation. Operating as an internal resource and technical quality expert, this role partners closely with the Quality Manager to support overall product quality, resolve quality-related issues through hands-on problem solving and cross-functional collaboration, and ensure solutions are implemented and maintained. A key focus of this position is supporting the development, organization, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems, procedures, methods, forms, and standardized work instructions that align with the organization's evolving quality management program. Success in this role requires strong technical writing, document management, and organizational skills, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word to manage complex datasets, maintain controlled documents, support reporting and data tracking, and create clear, structured technical documentation. This position reports to the Quality Manager and is located at our manufacturing plant in Baldwyn, MS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and help contribute to the Quality Team goals, objectives, and initiatives
Support process improvement initiatives and drive quality-focused actions throughout the organization
Proactively monitor and measure product output for daily quality metrics and reporting, with a specific focus on inline continuous extrusion variables such as melt temperatures, line speeds, and cooling rates
Develop systematic approaches to product quality review, complaint investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and overall quality assurance, specifically training in the ability identify common extrusion flaws like die lines, warp, surface quality, and uneven web thickness
Establish, review, and revise quality specifications, procedures, work instructions, and standards
Maintain accurate quality documentation, records, reports, and controlled documents
Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain and manage complex data tracking documents. This includes interacting with existing spreadsheets driven by complex formulas to support trend analysis and metric management
Utilize Microsoft Word for advanced document creation, authoring comprehensive, visually structured Standard Work Instructions and inspection forms
Document approval, processing, and storage in accordance with
ISO 9001
standards
Support internal processes to ensure Liberty Plastics' successful certification, recertification, and compliance of customer or regulatory-required designations, including ISO 9001 and other 3rd party certifications
Conduct quality training for applicable plant personnel to ensure understanding of quality objectives, programs, plans, and techniques
Audit and determine if prescribed processes are being followed, ensuring employees and processes comply with company quality standards and standard ISO requirements
Perform quality control testing including collecting raw material samples, performing tests using laboratory testing equipment, reviewing results against specifications, documenting findings, and communicating status. Key material tests will include dimensional caliper checks, basis weight verifications, structural compression testing for corrugated profiles, and surface tension testing
Track and monitor measuring and testing equipment calibration and records
Manage vendor relationships that provide quality-related supplies or services to the business
Occasional travel to other sites or customers, along with occasional on-site presence during non-traditional business hours

REQUIREDEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution or 5+ years manufacturing or comparable experience in place of education
Strong Microsoft Excel and Word experience, including data tracking, reporting, document formatting, and record management
Experience maintaining organized documentation and supporting document control processes
Proven track record for communication, collaboration, and document management
Ability to multitask and proactively accomplish goals and tasks with minimal direction
Previous experience working within an electronic quality management system
Ability to read a tape measure and basic statistical understanding, alongside hands-on proficiency with precision instruments such as micrometers, digital calipers, and force gauges
Strong organizational and planning skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS A
bachelor's degree is preferred (i.e. Business/Operations Management, Engineering or related field)
Experience in the corrugated industry or similar high-volume manufacturing
Quality experience in an
ISO 9001
compliant manufacturing organization and/or auditor certification
Experience managing customer interactions, gathering and relaying technical information
Effective business/technical written and verbal communication skills
Relationship management experience
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting pay rate for this position is $20.97 - $26.21 hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
