Job Description

Position Overview Fall Fittings Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Full-Time Quality Control / Fabricator to join our growing team in New Paltz, NY. This position combines hands-on fabrication responsibilities with quality control oversight to ensure all structural steel and miscellaneous metal products meet company standards, customer specifications, and project requirements. The ideal candidate will have fabrication experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform and document pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections while maintaining accurate quality records. Key Responsibilities Perform fabrication, fitting, cutting, coping, and assembly of structural steel and miscellaneous metal components. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and technical diagrams . Measure, mark, and lay out materials using a tape measure and precision measuring tools . Conduct and document pre-weld inspections to verify material specifications, dimensions, fit-up, joint preparation, and compliance with project requirements. Conduct and document post-weld inspections to verify weld quality, dimensional accuracy, fit, finish, and compliance with company and customer standards. Complete in-process and final quality inspections throughout the fabrication process. Utilize measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, squares, levels, and gauges to verify compliance with drawings and specifications. Document, track, and report quality concerns, deficiencies, and non-conforming materials or workmanship. Maintain accurate inspection logs, quality records, corrective action reports, and project documentation . Work closely with fabrication and welding personnel to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective measures. Verify that all products meet customer requirements, project specifications, and company quality standards before shipment or installation. Operate fabrication equipment including saws, torches, grinders, and other shop tools as required. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company safety policies. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and productivity.

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of welding consumables, fabrication materials, shop supplies, safety products, and other production-related items; document usage trends and submit reorder requests to management to ensure adequate stock and uninterrupted production. Qualifications & Requirements Experience performing and documenting pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections . Experience in quality control, quality assurance, or inspection within a metal fabrication or structural steel environment. Ability to identify weld defects, dimensional inconsistencies, and non-conforming workmanship. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation. Knowledge of quality control procedures, fabrication tolerances, and welding inspection practices. AWS certification or similar welding credentials Experience with structural steel fabrication and installation. Knowledge of welding symbols, fabrication tolerances, and inspection standards. Forklift or rigging experience. Compensation & Benefits Full-time position with competitive pay (based on experience). Overtime opportunities available. Comprehensive benefits package. Benefits available after a specified waiting period. Work Schedule Full-time, typically Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM Overtime available based on workload and project needs

Pay:

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
