Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support quality and food safety programs within a food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for inspecting and testing raw materials, work-in-process materials, finished products, and packaging to ensure compliance with established specifications and food safety requirements. The Quality Control Technician will also maintain quality records, coordinate third-party laboratory testing, prepare quality documentation, support customer requests, and assist with food safety, regulatory, and certification programs. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Quality Control Perform physical inspections and in-house testing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products for compliance with specifications. Accurately record and upload test results into quality logs and databases. Review third-party laboratory testing and inspection results for compliance with specifications and customer requirements. Coordinate with third-party laboratories, including preparing samples, submitting testing requests, and tracking results. Maintain product data, quality records, logs, spreadsheets, and customer quality document files. Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs), specification sheets, and other quality documents using established templates and lot-specific results. Respond to requests for COAs, specification sheets, samples, and other quality documentation. Keep Sales, Production, and other internal teams informed of QC/QA status, including raw material and finished product inspection and release. Manage product samples, including preparation, inspection, documentation, collection, and retention for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products. Identify and communicate quality issues and nonconformances to appropriate personnel. Food Safety, Certifications & Compliance Participate as a member of the food safety and product recall teams. Support the management and continuous improvement of food safety programs, including BRCGS . Participate in internal audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections. Maintain current documentation and support compliance with applicable certification programs, including organic, kosher, and BRCGS . Understand and support compliance with applicable food safety regulations, standards, and requirements. Perform other Quality Control and Quality Assurance duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Biological Science, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook . Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, reliability, and professional conduct. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness and ability to learn new skills, procedures, and technical concepts. Knowledge or experience with FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, BRCGS, or other food safety systems preferred. Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality control, laboratory testing, or a related field preferred. Physical Requirements Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation: Sit at a workstation for extended periods. Stand and walk frequently throughout the workday. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds . Perform routine physical inspection and sampling activities. Work Environment This position works in a food manufacturing and quality control environment, including production, laboratory/quality, and office areas. Employees must follow applicable food safety, sanitation, PPE, and workplace safety requirements.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
