Quality Systems and CAD Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary The Quality & CAD Engineer supports quality assurance, document control, and CAD/design activities across the PMI and AME sites. This role owns drawing and specification control, first-article and final inspection documentation, non-conformance and corrective-action reporting, and technical liaison work with vendors, purchasing, and customers including K&S and Safran. The position also generates 3D models and fixture designs as needed and supports AS9100 audit readiness. Key Responsibilities Generate 3D models as needed for various parts supporting internal operation customers.
Document control:
receive new drawings and specifications, perform drawing comparisons, and maintain filing. Fulfill internal requests for models, drawings, and specifications. Perform drawing ballooning. Respond to technical questions from vendors and/or purchasing. Generate PMI QR code labels for parts. Assist with correspondence, including CAR (Corrective Action Request) and SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) responses. Attend weekly meetings regarding key product line and track Key Quality Indicators. Respond to internal customer-based technical questions, including drawing needs and model requests. Fixture design and other CAD-related duties as needed. Generate and complete First Piece (FP), Final, and First Article Inspection (FAI) documents for customers. Manage weekly SPC data for key customers. Conduct internal quality audits. Maintain a daily log for traceability. Perform quality planning.
Coordinate shipments:
gather material and process certifications, generate Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and prepare ADTS data sheets. Generate
CAR/SCAR
reports. Issue Return Material Authorizations (RMAs). Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Perform first-piece inspection for all laser marking jobs. Prepare for AS9100 audits Perform quality planning. Review all finished job routers for completeness, addressing recurring minor non-conformances identified in previous audits. Qualifications Must be able to read and interpret blueprints (drawings), including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) -Able to plan and conduct various types of quality audits. Experience with CAD software and 3D modeling for parts, fixtures, and drawings. Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and aerospace inspection documentation (FAI, FP, Final). Familiarity with CAR/SCAR and non-conformance reporting processes. Strong attention to detail for document control, drawing review, and traceability logging. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, purchasing, and customer quality contacts. Experience with SPC data collection and reporting is a plus.

From $33.00 per hour
