Description Position is for a full-time Quality Control Inspector/NDT Technician. Overtime may be required. The position is for day-shift with an early start, however shift and starting time can be flexible. Most importantly, we are looking for someone that fits our culture and core values. Job Objectives:
Inspect castings according to customer specifications
To become proficient in all aspects of Non-Destructive Testing, including Visual Inspection, Radiography, Liquid Penetrant Inspection and Dimensional Layouts
Become familiar with the Quality System, and to understand all military and customer specifications
Meet or exceed customer expectations while maintaining BAF core values
Essential Job Functions:
Check casting quality continuously and work with supervisors/leaders to correct problems.
Process sample work as highest priority and maintain proper documentation for future production runs.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to maintain quality control of processes and products.
Perform Visual Inspection:
Visually inspect each casting maintaining accurate record of pieces; Record scrap castings daily
Perform liquid penetrant inspection on castings as needed; Stamping product on completion as required
Perform radiographic testing in accordance with the written technique sheets on production castings as required
Perform radiographic testing on in-house samples as requested Stamping product on completion as required
Perform, record and report on all required quality control lab functions:
Sand testing as detailed on the lab schedule
Spectrometry analysis and gas porosity analysis as requested by the melt department personnel
Test bar/tensile testing as required
Brinell Hardness testing on castings as required
Verify chemistries of all incoming metal deliveries
Perform either digital or traditional product layouts as required or requested; Maintain and be proficient with Faro Arm and Polyworks
Report dimensional results to customers and Product Development
Participate in customer source inspections
Create color mapping and/or 3D models as necessary
Qualifications:
Certifications at any level in NDT is preferred but not required. We strongly promote continuing education and will provide training and certification to the right candidate
Work experience within a quality department is required
