The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precise dimensional inspections and quality assurance activities using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other measuring instruments. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of quality control and ensuring that all manufactured components meet strict industry specifications, including aerospace and medical device standards such as
AS9100, ISO
13485, and
ISO 9001.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical proficiency in CMM programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical measurement techniques, contributing to our commitment to manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), including PC-DMIS and Calypso software, to perform dimensional inspections on complex components. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine inspection requirements. Conduct precision measurements using a variety of tools such as height gauges, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify component dimensions. Ensure compliance with quality standards including
AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ASME
codes & standards, and internal quality protocols. Perform calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability. Document inspection results accurately in quality records and communicate findings effectively with manufacturing teams. Assist in developing and improving CMM programs for new products or process changes to enhance measurement efficiency. Support quality assurance processes by identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective actions. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to interpret technical drawings and optimize inspection procedures. Maintain a clean, organized inspection area adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a CMM Technician or in a similar role within aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments. Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Knowledge of quality standards including
AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ASME
codes & standards. Experience with various measuring instruments such as height gauges, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Familiarity with measuring instruments calibration procedures and maintenance. Technical proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks is advantageous. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and perform dimensional inspections accordingly. Strong mathematical skills for precise measurement calculations. Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, machining processes, and manufacturing workflows. Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating across teams.
