Quality Assurance Technician
2nd $20.00
Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician will verify the cleanliness of the plant, monitor and validate Critical Control Points (CCP's), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices. Perform daily room checks ensuring products being produced meet all USDA regulations and customer specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties for this job include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
Daily pre-operational inspection throughout the entire plant.
Collect environmental and pre-operational swabs throughout the production areas.
Pull product samples from the smokehouse area and fresh sausage to analyze for fat, moisture determination and protein using CEM or FOSS method. Analyze for pH and salt as needed.
Pull, prepare and send out samples for the outside laboratories.
Perform microbial plating of raw materials, cooked meat products, swabs and sponges using 3M Petri film
Perform daily room checks to assure quality and food safety. Check product labels, dates, codes, etc. in order to ensure they are correct.
Monitor SSOP's and GMP's throughout the plant.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year related experience or training. Prior experience in QC and HACCP highly desired.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
HACCP Certification.
Physical Demands
The employee (by themselves) must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally 100 or more.
