Requirements:
POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure that all products coming into the facility are consistently high quality and adhere to relevant specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect all fresh produce arriving at the facility before it's accepted into the warehouse Document issues noticed during inspection process and discuss inspection results to the Quality Supervisor Recommend adjustments and changes to increase product consistency Inspect produce returned by retail customers to determine cause of credit and evaluate who is responsible and how to reduce future issues Comply with all aspects of the food safety programs and assist with recordkeeping requirements Attend seminars and educational conferences to stay up to date on USDA standards and company quality standards Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of fresh produce Forklift certification preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about fresh produce with a special emphasis on potatoes and onions Attention to detail Analytical and problem-solving skills Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality Written communication skills
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods standing and walking Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasks Exposure to airborne particles or fumes Stairs will need to be climbed throughout the day to access the grading line Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas Occasionally will need to lift up to 60 pounds
