Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Tool Setter, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and precision of our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to high-quality product output. As a Tool Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, adjusting, and maintaining tooling setups to optimize manufacturing operations, all while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Duties Set up and adjust various manufacturing tools and equipment, including press brake machines, CNC lathes, and plastics extrusion machinery, to meet production specifications. Ensure proper installation and alignment of tooling components using precision measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Perform routine inspections of tools and machinery for wear or damage, conducting quality inspections to maintain high standards. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with industrial equipment, applying engineering troubleshooting techniques to minimize downtime. Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment, ensuring efficient materials flow within the manufacturing area. Maintain accurate records of tool setups, adjustments, and maintenance activities in compliance with lean manufacturing principles. Collaborate with machine operators and quality control teams to optimize machining processes and improve product quality. Qualifications Proven experience with machine operation in a manufacturing environment, especially with plastics blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion processes. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment effectively. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers), and basic math for measurement verification. Experience operating CNC machines such as CNC lathes or related machining tools. Ability to read technical drawings and fabrication instructions accurately. Warehouse experience including materials handling with forklifts is preferred. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflow and waste reduction.
