Lead Cutting & Sewing Machine Operator (Full-Time, On-site in Loxahatchee, FL)
What You Will Do:
Operates walking-foot industrial sewing machines to join multiple parts of fabricated articles. The operations performed are repetitive at a steady pace; accuracy and quality are the principal requirements. The sewing machine operator and cutter is responsible for the quality of vinyl seats & cushions sewn according to company and customer specifications. There is opportunity for growth for the right individual. Responsibilities Measure and cut vinyl and/or commercial fabric via patterns or measurements Sew together components utilizing sewing machines to construct vinyl seats and cushions for commercial seating. Communicate with the owner-operator to tackle uncertainties or customizations by client requests Manage materials inventory Can prioritize and manage client orders by urgency & meet deadlines without sacrificing quality. Set up the machine with appropriate raw materials (i.e. thread, taping, bobbins, etc.) to perform a specific operation Starts, stops, and controls the speed of the machine, using a foot pedal Guides parts under needle, using fingers and hands, and following edges, seams, guides on machine bed, or markings on part Observes stitching to detect defects and notifies supervisor when defects are caused by machine malfunction Oils machine, changes needles, and secures attachments as needed Keeps all sensitive matters confidential Other duties as assigned, including cross-training on various sewing machines and equipment as required Schedule Monday-Friday - 8:00-5:00 EST (Some flexibility on schedule is negotiable.) No weekends required Requirements Must legally be allowed to work in the USA. Good understanding of English required; Spanish is a bonus. Experience sewing cushions, seats, zippers, etc. Attention to detail and good organizational skills. Able to read and update an order spreadsheet in English. Ability to bend, sit, stand, and reach throughout the day. Must be able to lift rolls of vinyl with assistance What We Offer On-site workplace in Loxahatchee, FL The hourly range for this posted position is $25hr - $30/hr. (Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.)
