You must follow precise patterns and specifications to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Machine Operation & Setup:
Set up and thread industrial sewing machines according to job requirements; adjust settings for different fabrics and stitching types
Pattern & Specification Reading:
Interpret sewing patterns, work orders, and technical drawings to prepare materials and determine stitching methods
Material Preparation:
Measure, cut, and lay out fabric or other materials as specified; select and prepare thread, zippers, and other sewing supplies
Stitching & Assembly:
Operate single-needle sewing machines, multi-needle sergers, and binding machines to sew garments, upholstery, bags, or other products
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for defects in stitching, color, or design; repair or rework as needed.
Maintenance:
Perform basic upkeep—changing needles, cleaning machines, and replacing parts—while monitoring for malfunctions
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety rules, workplace regulations, and company standards; report issues promptly .
Record Keeping:
Maintain records of completed orders and production details Required Skills & Qualities Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, and work orders Strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and concentration for precision work Manual dexterity for handling small parts and making fine adjustments Good organizational and time management skills Willingness to work long hours, often on the feet, and in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Capacity to lift, carry, or move materials up to 10-75 lbs depending on the product Comfort working in environments with moving mechanical parts and occasional noise Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent. Prior sewing or industrial sewing experience preferred; some roles may accept candidates with sewing knowledge but no prior industrial experience
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
