JOB TITLE:

Sewing Machine Operator

OBJECTIVE

Operate a sewing machine efficiently and safely while producing high-quality products that meet company standards and production goals. Major Activities Performed Operate sewing machine to join fabric materials (ie: vinyl, canvas, coated fabrics, etc.).

Measure, cut, and align fabric pieces according to work orders, blueprints, or patterns.

Inspect seams and welds to ensure strength, accuracy, and quality standards are met.

Maintain clean, straight, and consistent lines free from defects.

Perform basic equipment maintenance and report malfunctions.

Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Assist with additional fabricating tasks such as sewing, trimming, or bonding when required.

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in commercial sewing with single needle, double needle, and surging complex and precise assemblies, ensuring consistent stitch quality, accurate seam alignment, and adherence to production specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret measurements, work orders, and technical drawings.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Manual dexterity and ability to handle large rolls of fabric or heavy materials.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Working Conditions

Extensive sitting with intermittent stooping, bending, and pulling as it relates to material movement through the equipment, both upstream and downstream.

Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Continual movement of material most often under 20 lbs.
