Job DescriptionThe MD 1st Class Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment at CMI's 24/7 customer site in Gaithersburg, MD.Key Job FunctionsMaintain the correct steam pressure and water level in the steam generatorsInspect feed water regulatory controls and gaugesEnsure proper combustion by maintaining the required O2 levels in the exit gasesMaintain an established chemical program by performing tests, adding the required chemicals to each system, and adjusting system blow down rates, etc.

Operate all auxiliary equipment associated with steam generation, and electrical generation, and chilled water productionMaintain correct air pressure by proper adjustments to the air compressors and dryersMaintain site Chilled Water temperature to the campusOperate and monitor the chillers for inlet/outlet temperatures for the condenser and evaporator, and the free cooling systemInsure the safe operation of all equipmentWear proper PPE and follow all required protocolsTroubleshoot/repair/perform preventative maintenance of all equipment that provides steam, chilled water and compressed air found in the Steam and Chilled Water Generation PlantMeasure, cut and thread pipe, and clean the water and fire sides of the steam generatorsTroubleshoot/repair control issues associated with direct digital, pneumatic and electric controlsRepack valves, repair pumps and perform pump maintenancePerform related housekeeping duties as required and assignedQualificationsMust have a current Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (MD-DLLR) Grade 1 License (1st Class Stationary Engineer)Demonstrate at least 2 years of independent operation as a first-class stationary engineer on similar-sized equipment.

Must have a current Universal CFC LicenseAdditional Information
