Full-time Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday 1st shift: 5:00am-3:30pm Temp-To-Hire Pay rate: $18
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Composite Fabrication Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for all tasks involved in the fabrication of our composite parts. The ideal candidate will follow standard work methods and prioritize safe practices to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare tools, de-mold tools, and maintain build records. Clean and reseal tools using appropriate release systems. Inspect completed products for conformance to specifications and defects. Complete internal and customer-required layup documentation. Trim excess materials from molds using hand shears or trimming knives. Perform processes such as vacuum bagging, bladder molding, and trapped rubber methods. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and tool control standards. Demonstrate and apply 5S principles consistently. Execute composite layup processes using materials such as carbon pre-preg, carbon fibers, Kevlar, fiberglass, and hand layup techniques. Ensure parts are built free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids, with attention to detail and craftsmanship. Cut materials to size, fasten them to molds, and bag composites for oven curing. Handle materials on wheeled carts and follow work instructions to build parts from kits. Maintain organizational skills and adhere to safety and housekeeping standards. Record production data and perform rework or repairs as needed. Prep and maintain tools per guidelines and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate verbally and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Familiarity with blueprints, drawings, and documents; ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. Experience with machinist hand tools and measuring instruments. Respirator certification (or ability to obtain). Ability to work in a loud environment, lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs, and work extended hours as needed. Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with coworkers and management.
