Onsite Job Description Responsibilities:

Studies specifications from CAD models, blueprints, sketches or tool descriptions and plans sequence of operation to construct.

Operates tool room equipment at a high-level of competency which may include, but is also not limited to: CNC mill, manual mills, manual lathes, drill presses, and array of hand tools.

Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of stages of tooling.

Plans, constructs, and repairs a variety of tool, dies, jigs, gauges and fixtures to close tolerances.

Disassembles and assembles molds using hand tools.

Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfections or damage that may affect the functionality.

Studies blueprints of products and molds to affect construction or repair of components applying knowledge of shop mathematics.

Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.

May provide guidance to lower-level toolmakers.

Competencies:

Proficient with measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, rulers, scribes, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.

Knowledge/experience with Pro E, Work NC and Power Mill by Autodesk or related CAD/CAM software

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and precision throughout the machining process.

Good communication with the ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with engineers, mold makers, and other staff.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
