Job Description

Tool Room Machinist This position is temporary with the opportunity to be hired on full-time Location Munster, IN Pay Rate $24
  • 27/hr, but could be flexible depending on experience Shift/Schedule 7:00am
  • 5:30pm Monday
  • Thursday Overtime / Weekends as needed Position Summary We are seeking a tool and die machinist for a manufacturing client.
Candidates responsible for building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining tooling, dies, molds, fixtures, and precision components used in manufacturing processes. Ensures tools and equipment operate efficiently and meet quality standards. Responsibilities Manufacture and repair tooling, dies, molds, and fixtures.
Operate machine tools such as:
Lathes Milling machines Surface grinders CNC machines Drill presses Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Measure and inspect parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Troubleshoot tooling problems and perform corrective maintenance. Assemble and test tooling components. Maintain tool inventory and records. Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards. Work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel, and production staff to improve tooling performance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Technical training in machining, tool and die, or manufacturing technology preferred. Experience in toolroom, machining, or maintenance environments. Knowledge of CNC programming and operation is often beneficial. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Knowledge of machining practices and tooling materials. Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances. Experience with precision measuring equipment. Basic math and geometry skills. Attention to detail and accuracy.
