Start Day 1 Top Gun Staffing is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker / Tooling Associate for a growing manufacturing operation. This position is ideal for an experienced tooling professional with a strong background in metal stamping dies , die troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and toolroom machining. Metal stamping experience is required. Candidates with plastics/injection molding experience may be considered only if they also have hands-on metal stamping die experience. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve metal stamping dies and tooling Perform preventive maintenance on dies and tooling to maximize production uptime Diagnose tooling problems during production and complete necessary repairs Repair and replace punches, die components, inserts, cutting tools, and other tooling components Build, modify, fit, and improve tooling as required Operate toolroom equipment including manual mills, lathes, and grinders Read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, and specifications Use GD&T and precision measuring equipment to verify tooling and component dimensions Support production during tooling-related downtime and troubleshoot recurring die issues Assist with tooling improvements focused on quality, reliability, and production efficiency Maintain a safe and organized work environment Work independently as well as collaboratively with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams Required Qualifications Hands-on metal stamping die experience is required Tool & Die Maker certificate and/or approximately 5+ years of related Tool & Die experience Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing stamping dies Ability to read and interpret blueprints Working knowledge of GD&T Experience operating mills, lathes, grinders, and other toolroom equipment Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude Ability to diagnose tooling and production problems independently Experience with cutting, forming, bending, and related tooling is highly desirable Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and flexible hours as production needs require Strong communication, teamwork, and attendance Compensation & Benefits $31.55
