Job Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Shop Helper, where your enthusiasm and mechanical aptitude will contribute to precision machining and fabrication processes. In this role, you will assist skilled machinists and operators in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring smooth workflow within our state-of-the-art machine shop. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help uphold our commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills in a fast-paced production environment while supporting the creation of high-quality components. Responsibilities Assist machinists and operators with setting up and operating various machine tools including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping machines. Support the interpretation of technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Handle basic measurements using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and perform shop math calculations to verify dimensions. Help with material handling tasks including loading and unloading raw materials or finished parts using forklifts or hand tools. Maintain a clean, organized work area by properly storing tooling, fixtures, and supplies while adhering to safety standards in production. Assist in troubleshooting industrial equipment issues under supervision to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation. Participate in quality control activities by inspecting parts for dimensional accuracy and adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework in manufacturing or machining is a plus. Basic understanding of mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with shop math, measurement tools (calipers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques. Experience with industrial equipment such as CNC machines & stamping machines are advantageous but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided. Ability to operate hand tools and tooling safely while following all safety standards in a manufacturing environment. Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks reliably. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to support efficient production workflows.
