Hours:

7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Tool & Die position available at a company in Hazelwood, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire. Tool & Die Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, fabricate, and repair injection molds, compression molds, and related tooling according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate conventional and CNC machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs, and surface finish tools.
  • Perform mold setup, alignment, fitting, and testing to ensure dimensional accuracy and proper function.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on existing tooling to reduce downtime and improve cycle efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to modify tools for design improvements or material changes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings with attention to tight tolerances.
  • Document work performed, maintain tool history records, and adhere to company quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements in tooling and mold design.
Tool & Die Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tool and die making, preferably within the plastic injection molding industry.
  • Proficiency in machining, grinding, and EDM processes.
  • Strong knowledge of mold design principles, tolerances, and thermoplastic materials.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
