Job Description

This is a part-time position at Mayland Community Colleges Main Campus. This is an evening class, approximately six hours per week. The course will be offered annually for approximately 16 weeks or 4 months per year. Enjoy teaching at the community college level where sharing your talents is more than just a job. As an instructor, you will be teaching adults. The investment of your time provides new skills, new beginnings, and lots of memories! Be a part of the Mayland Community College team! Teach adult students content focused upon HVAC within construction trades. Instruct and demonstrate safety practices, procedures, and standards. Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Develop and implement an instructional plan and set up an HVAC instructional lab area. Create and plan effective curriculum-based projects and activities. Build positive relationships with students. Perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools used in the program. Manage inventory control including working with the Dean of Continuing Education, Mitchell County to purchase materials, supplies, equipment, and tools. Assist with establishing observational experiences, work-based learning sites, and apprenticeship partners. Maintain and accurately complete class paperwork. Submit rosters on time. Actively recruit students. Maintain and exhibit a professional appearance and attitude. Perform other related duties as assigned. High School Diploma Five (5) years of work-related experience in HVAC. Ability to read blueprints and detailed drawings. Ability to read and utilize various measuring and construction tools.
