Job Description

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Press Operator positions for a Manufacturing company in Morrison, TN. This is a Temp-to-Hire job. !
Duties for this position include:
Operate mechanical, hydraulic, and punch presses to form, stamp, bend, punch, and shape metal components Set up presses, dies, tooling, and fixtures according to production specifications Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and production specifications Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and other requirements before beginning production Adjust press settings and tooling to maintain quality and production requirements Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures Monitor equipment and identify unusual noises, vibration, defects, or other potential equipment issues Maintain production rates while meeting established quality standards Identify and correct common production issues and communicate equipment or tooling concerns to maintenance or supervision Assist with die changes, tooling changes, machine setup, and changeovers Complete required production, quality, and inspection documentation Safely handle metal materials and finished components Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all company safety procedures, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and required PPE Work collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, and supervisory teams Compensation (USD): $19.00/hour
Schedule :
Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: 3+ years of experience operating metal presses in a manufacturing environment Experience with press setup, tooling, and die changes Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and work instructions Ability to use basic precision measuring equipment Strong understanding of metal forming and manufacturing processes Ability to identify defects and make appropriate machine or process adjustments Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift Ability to safely work around moving machinery, metal materials, noise, and industrial equipment Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear High school diploma or GED preferred
