SHIFT TOOL & DIE MAKER'S NEEDED - RICHMOND, VIRGINIA A
Leading Manufacturing Company in the Richmond, Virginia area needs First and Second Shift Tool & Die Maker's. Previous Tool & Die Experience in a Manufacturing Plant Setting is Required. Progressive Die Expertise is Needed. These are Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Positions offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This key position will be based in our clients new manufacturing operation. This Positions reports to the Maintenance Manager to provide support for manufacturing by designing, making, and repairing tools. Assist Engineering and Maintenance by making prototypes, or equipment repair parts. Daily check with supervisor for incoming work such as broken dies; continue with pending assignments as priority allows. Design die from engineering drawings, sketches, or verbal direction Set up and operate conventional or CNC equipment to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes Operation of all tool room equipment to make and repair dies. Assist with prototypes from engineering department. Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat treatment properties Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies Assist the maintenance department when needed Weld, measure, heat treat, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED Expertise with Metal Stamping Progressive Dies is Required Knowledge of precision measuring tools, layout tools, hand & bench tools, metallurgy and heat treatment, advanced mathematics I.E. Geometry and Trigonometry Experience with engine lathes, mill machines, jig bore, surface grinders, and press operation. Blueprint reading and familiarity with Mastercam, AutoCAD and Solid Works is essential. Basic skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Must be a team player and work well with others. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred Some working knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Some working knowledge of robotics and industrial machinery in an automated production environment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must have good teamwork and communication skills. Prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Should be able to work with little or no supervision and meet deadlines.. One year certificate from college or technical school (Machinist certificate); or equivalent. Preferring Candidates with 5 or more years of experience in the Tool & Die Trade.
