Description The Company:

Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking two Tool Room Technicians to join our team! PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world's most extreme environments. PacAero's products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface.

The Position:

Job Summary Responsible for maintaining and organizing tooling and supply inventory, including stocking tools in RoboCrib and AutoCrib machines, and collecting daily shipments. Performs weekly physical tool counts and ensures programming folders and filed in numerical order. Sets and changes tools for CNC mills, reads measuring scales and decimals accurately, and follows set-up sheets and shop instructions. Transports parts safely between buildings, performs basic shop math, and adheres to all shop best practices. Maintains a clean and organized work area and promptly reports any operational issues to the lead or supervisor.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 5:00am to 1:30pm Primary Responsibilities Work cooperatively with all employees. Willingness to adapt work schedule to company needs. Consistently at work and on time. Following company handbook policy and companies cell phone policy. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor. Must be able to retain information and show continued progression towards a level 2 tool room technician. Tool Room Technician I Responsibilities Stock tools in RoboCrib. Stock supplies in AutoCrib machines. Collect shipments daily. Perform physical counts of tools weekly. File programming folders in numerical order. Set and change tools for CNC mills. Read a measuring scale. Must be able to read decimals. Capable of reading and following set-up sheets instructions. Transport parts safely between both buildings. Capable of performing basic shop math. Follow all shop paperwork, processes and best practices. Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized. Identifying and escalating any operational issues to lead or supervisor.

Work Environment Noise:

The machine shop can often be a loud environment with constant noise from equipment requiring mandatory hearing protection.

Safety hazards:

Tool room technicians can be exposed to inherent risks from powerful, high-speed equipment, including moving parts and sharp tools. Safety protocols are critical to prevent injuries.

Contaminants:

The work involves exposure to airborne particles like metal dust, coolant mist, and chemical fumes, necessitating adequate ventilation and protective measures to minimize health risks when on the shop floor.

Protective gear:

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety. This includes safety glasses and hearing protection on the shop floor.

Shift work:

Must be flexible to work any of the following shifts: M-Th 5am-3:30pm, M-Th 3:15pm-1:45am, Fri-Sun 5am-6pm, and Fri-Sun 5pm-6am.

Physical Requirements:
Standing/Sitting:

Tool room technicians can spend long hours on their feet.

Lifting:

The job can require lifting and moving heavy parts or raw materials. Some roles may involve moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds when on the shop floor.

Manual dexterity:

Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary.

Repetitive motion:

Many tasks, such as loading and unloading workpieces, deburring parts, inspecting parts, are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.

Precision and vision:

Tool room technicians must have excellent close-up vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors to accurately read blueprints, inspect finished products, and use measuring instruments.

Stamina:

Physical stamina is required for the duration of a shift to perform all duties of the job. In addition, all employees of PA&E are expected to: Promote teamwork and cooperative effort Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes
