Job Description The Senior Tool and Die Technician is a crucial member of Boyd Allenton's Tooling team. The primary responsibility of this position is the preparation and maintenance of the die-cast tooling necessary for our manufacturing processes. The ability to work as a team and good communication skills are key components for success in this role. Essential Job Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on shot rods, high-pressure die-cast tooling, and trim dies.
Complete shop paperwork accurately and as directed
Support production needs by completing any necessary tooling or machining work in accordance with established company procedures
Fix broken tools, mills, lathes, and grinders
Make cores tips, fixtures, and slot rods
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Must support and follow the QMS requirements
Observe all Boyd safety and OSHA guidelines and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Perform advanced mathematics and be able to use a calculator
Must communicate with employees on a professional level at all times
Basic reasoning skills and language skills (ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business paperwork)
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions/requests from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
Proficient with MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and use of a PC Preferred Skills and Experience
Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining company quality standards at all times
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities under minimal supervision
Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.
Previous tooling experience Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch tools, equipment, and/or controls
Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
