Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Wastewater Operator/Service Technician and become a vital part of ensuring environmental compliance and operational excellence at water and wastewater treatment facilities. In this energetic role, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex wastewater systems and water treatment equipment, ensuring smooth plant operations. Your expertise will help safeguard environmental standards while supporting the efficient delivery of clean water services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced control systems, heavy equipment, and a dedicated team committed to environmental stewardship and safety. Duties Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and chemical feed systems to ensure optimal performance. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to automate processes and troubleshoot system issues efficiently. Perform routine inspections, data collection, and analysis of water quality parameters to maintain environmental compliance. Conduct maintenance, repair, and calibration of pumps, water treatment equipment, and heavy machinery while adhering to safety regulations. Manage tankers for the transportation of waste or chemicals as needed, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Apply plumbing skills for system repairs, pipe installations, or modifications within wastewater systems. Follow all safety protocols including personal protective equipment (PPE) use and heavy equipment operation to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in construction or upgrade projects by supporting installation activities and testing new equipment or systems. Skills Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and water treatment operations. Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial automation technology. Mechanical knowledge related to pumps, valves, piping systems, and general equipment repair. Experience working in wastewater systems, water utility distribution, or the energy & utilities sector is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely along with heavy equipment operation skills. Basic math skills for data analysis, measurements, and calculations essential for maintaining system performance. Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards applicable to water treatment facilities. Construction experience is a plus for supporting plant upgrades or infrastructure projects. Pay:
From $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
