Water Treatment Operator Aquatrex, Inc. is a contracted operator for water systems based in Santa Barbara County and requires the following for a full-time Water Distribution and Treatment Operator. At a minimum, applicants must possess a valid California Water Distribution Grade D1 Certification (or higher) or be willing to obtain one; concurrent possession of a Water Treatment Grade T1 Certification or higher is preferrable but not required. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of experience as a Distribution and Treatment Operator. Water Treatment Operators are responsible for the day-to-day performance of general duties related to the operation of water distribution and water treatment systems. Operators are expected to perform the following tasks as appropriate based on licenses and/or certificates required, experience, and training: Daily routine inspection of water treatment plants and/or distribution systems. Check and record data from meters, gauges, pumps, and control panels to verify optimal operation. Respond to customer complaints and service emergency calls as dispatched. Including but not limited to leaks and emergency repairs. Perform maintenance of system equipment such as fire hydrants, meters, valves, backflow prevention devices, cla-vals, PRVs, vacuum breakers, etc. Completion of required logs and reporting. Perform lab duties and sampling for water facilities including but not limited to pH, nitrates, chlorine residual, bacteriological sampling, temperature, and hazardous materials. Adjust treatment systems, chemical additions and controls systems to achieve optimum treatment results. Service and operate treatment facilities, distribution systems, maintenance and disposal activities. Understand and adhere to company policies and operating procedures. Ensure care and maintenance of company issued equipment including but not limited to vehicles, hand tools, power tools, technology, lab equipment and other materials. Attend necessary company and client meetings, trainings, and other gatherings as needed. Maintain certificates and licenses necessary for assigned duties. Be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 45 lbs. with reasonable accommodation. Be capable of standing, bending, squatting, and walking over rough terrain. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Non-certified candidates after a minimum of 1 year experience working at Aquatrex, Inc., will be required to get certification with State Water Resources Control Board. Salary is dependent upon experience and licenses/certifications held. Full-time Aquatrex, Inc. employees are eligible for a benefits package including medical, accrued vacation and sick leave, uniform allowance, etc. This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly with the opportunity to receive performance-based yearly bonuses. This job is an 8 hour per day, Monday through Friday, outside field-based position with the possibility of working overtime. Holidays, and weekends if needed. Incumbents may be subject to exposure to the elements within a reasonable threshold, most commonly water and weather conditions.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
