Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Water Treatment Specialist to join our team and ensure the safe, efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment systems. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining water quality standards, operating treatment equipment, and adhering to environmental and safety regulations. Your expertise will help protect public health and the environment while supporting the reliable delivery of clean water. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic sector dedicated to environmental sustainability and utility excellence. Duties Operate and monitor water treatment and wastewater systems, including pumps, filters, chemical feeders, and control panels. Collect data on water quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, chemical levels, and flow rates to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Maintain and repair water treatment equipment, including industrial pumps, valves, and control systems like Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Conduct routine inspections of wastewater treatment plants and water distribution systems to identify issues early and perform preventive maintenance. Follow safety protocols by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to safety regulations, and practicing heavy equipment operation when necessary. Assist in troubleshooting operational problems by analyzing system performance data and implementing corrective actions. Support environmental compliance efforts by documenting operational activities, maintaining logs, and preparing reports for regulatory agencies. Skills Strong understanding of water treatment processes, wastewater systems, and related equipment operation. Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for process automation. Mechanical knowledge related to pump operation, industrial pump maintenance and repair, and equipment troubleshooting. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for data analysis and process adjustments. Knowledge of safety regulations including PPE use, heavy lifting techniques, and safe heavy equipment operation. Familiarity with environmental compliance standards relevant to water utility distribution and wastewater treatment. Excellent analysis skills for monitoring system performance, identifying issues, and implementing maintenance or repairs effectively. Pay:
$25.72 - $30.98 per hour
