WASTEWATER DIVISION WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM OPERATOR

The Town of Ayer, Massachusetts is seeking a self-motivated highly qualified applicant for the position of Wastewater Collection System Operator for the Department of Public Works Wastewater Division. This person will be responsible for inspections, repairs and maintenance of the Town's sewer mains, services, lift stations and related structures. Wastewater Collection System Operator duties will include: Maintain wastewater pumping stations in locations throughout Town Inspect and clean sewers and manholes Assists in groundskeeping and snow plowing Skilled work of a routine nature in operating required equipment including a high-pressure jet truck Related work as required. Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, must have knowledge and experience in the maintenance and operation of municipal wastewater collection and pumping system. Other requirements include CDL B, Massachusetts Hoisting License, and a Collection System Grade 3 Certification or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment. FY27 rate of pay of $24.33 to $28.99 per hour and license increments of $2.56 per hour. Overtime pay available.
