Aberdeen, Md Full-Time | Entry-Level About the position: The Water and Wastewater Plant Operator will assist in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities. This is an entry-level position designed to provide on-the-job training and prepare the candidate for certification as a licensed operator. This position does require that you obtain an MDE Certification within the first 5 years of employment. Position requires working a rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn and assist in the operation of water and wastewater treatment processes. Monitor plant equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning. Collect and analyze water samples for quality control. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Record operational data and prepare reports as required. Follow safety protocols and comply with environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Preferred:

Previous experience in water/wastewater operations or related fields is a plus. Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Training and Advancement:

This position offers comprehensive training and the opportunity to obtain state certification as a Water/Wastewater Operator. Successful candidates may advance through the Career Progression upon completion of required training and certification.
