Wastewater Operator or Operator-in-Training (Night Shift) Tupelo, MS Are you a recent Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science graduate looking to launch a meaningful career? Do you have maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial experience and enjoy hands-on problem solving? If so, we'd love to hear from you. As a Wastewater Operator, you'll help protect the environment by operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment used to treat wastewater. This is a great opportunity to build technical skills, earn industry certifications, and grow in a stable, essential industry. What You'll Do Operate and monitor pumps, motors, valves, and treatment equipment Collect samples and perform basic testing and laboratory analyses Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs Document plant performance and operational data Respond to operational issues and emergency call-outs as needed Maintain a safe, clean, and secure facility What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED required Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred Maintenance, mechanical, industrial, or utility experience welcomed Strong work ethic and willingness to obtain wastewater certification Valid driver's license required Schedule & Physical Requirements This night-shift position requires availability for weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency call-outs. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
