Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Kittanning is accepting applications for a PA State Certified Wastewater treatment plant Operator or a non-certified applicant who would be willing to obtain the appropriate licenses within 3 years. License requirements include minimum classifications of B, E with subclasses 2 & 4 to perform skilled labor in the day to day operations of a 1.2 MGD Wastewater treatment plant, collection system, and pump station. Applicant must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, possess a valid Class B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements, or have the ability to obtain such license and endorsements within 1 year of hire date. The Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or withour reasonable accommodation, including lifting at least 50 pounds, and walking and standing for up to 8 hours. The position also requires the willingness and ability to work rotating weekends and holidays. Other duties include but are not limited to, grass cutting and weed eating, greasing of pumps, motors, valves, and rotating assemblies, cleaning of collection lines and manholes, and performing preventative maintenance at the pump station and treatment plant. The essential functions of the position also require working in confined spaces, as well as from ladders and/or heights above ground level. The successful applicant will also be expected to perform simple housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping of floors, and cleaning the restroom, and any other maintenance or operational duties as instructed by Management.
