Job Description

Position Summary Horizon Environmental is seeking an experienced Field Services Supervisor with a strong background in industrial tank cleaning, particularly within terminal facilities.

This position will be responsible for supervising tank-cleaning crews, coordinating daily jobsite activities, ensuring safe tank entry and cleaning operations, and making sure work is completed efficiently and according to customer requirements.

We are specifically looking for candidates who have hands-on experience cleaning a variety of industrial storage tanks and understand the safety, operational, and logistical requirements of performing tank-cleaning work within terminals. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead field crews performing industrial tank-cleaning projects. Coordinate daily tank-cleaning activities, personnel, equipment, and jobsite resources. Review job scope and tank conditions before work begins and assist in determining the appropriate cleaning approach. Conduct pre-job safety meetings and ensure JSAs, permits, and required safety documentation are completed. Supervise confined-space entry and tank-entry operations in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Ensure proper PPE, respiratory protection, ventilation, monitoring equipment, and other required safety controls are in place before and during tank entry. Direct employees performing manual and mechanical tank-cleaning activities. Monitor job progress, crew productivity, equipment utilization, and changing conditions within the tank. Identify and address safety concerns, operational issues, or changing job conditions. Maintain communication with terminal personnel, customers, and Horizon Environmental management throughout the project. Ensure tanks are cleaned according to customer specifications and project requirements. Train and mentor field personnel on tank-cleaning procedures, confined-space work, equipment use, and safe work practices. Ensure job documentation, service tickets, time records, and other required paperwork are accurate and completed on time. Maintain proper housekeeping and organization of the work area and equipment. Participate in on-call, weekend, night, and extended-hour assignments when required by project schedules. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have basic knowledge utilizing Microsoft programs such as excel, word, outlook, etc. Qualifications TES (Tank Entry Supervisor) experience, training, or qualification strongly preferred. Previous experience cleaning tanks within terminals, tank farms, refineries, petrochemical facilities, or similar industrial environments. 40-Hour
HAZWOPER
certification. TWIC card. Ability to pass a drug screening, background check, and must have a valid driver's license. Extensive experience performing tank cleaning. Experience supervising confined-space tank entries. Experience cleaning multiple types of aboveground storage tanks and working with varying products and residues. Familiarity with terminal-specific permitting, safety procedures, and customer requirements.
