Full Job Description Description:
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating sanitation staff to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment across non-production areas, including break rooms, offices, and restrooms. This role oversees daily cleaning operations, enforces sanitation standards, and supports a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facility. Key Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, and assign daily tasks to sanitation technicians Ensure all break rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas meet company cleanliness and sanitation standards Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality and compliance Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to sanitation staff on procedures, safety, and chemical handling Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate reordering as needed Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals (SDS compliance) Address employee concerns, performance issues, and attendance in alignment with company policies Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve facility-related issues Support deep cleaning, special projects, and preparation for audits or leadership visits Maintain documentation of cleaning schedules, inspections, and corrective actions Promote and enforce all safety policies, including PPE usage and hazard communication
Requirements:
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certifications in facilities, sanitation, or safety preferred 2-5 years of custodial/sanitation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and OSHA safety standards Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs regularly Ability to perform and demonstrate cleaning tasks as needed Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment Work Environment Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures May require flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends Key Competencies Leadership and team development Accountability and ownership Attention to detail Time management and prioritization Safety and compliance mindset Continuous improvement focus
