Full Job Description Job Summary:
Laird Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Production Fabrication Welder to join our production team. This position is responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components used in the production of agricultural equipment. The ideal candidate will have production welding and fabrication experience, strong MIG welding skills, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings, and work instructions. This is a hands-on manufacturing position for an individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and can perform effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding to fabricate and assemble metal components according to drawings, specifications, and production requirements. Fabricate metal parts and assemblies using equipment such as shears, press brakes, grinders, and CNC machines. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and work orders. Prepare materials and surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, fitting, and aligning components. Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts for quality, structural integrity, and compliance with specifications. Operate fabrication equipment and measuring tools safely and accurately. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of welding and fabrication equipment. Complete production records, welding logs, and quality documentation accurately. Assist with inventory restocking, repair work, and other fabrication activities as needed. Work collaboratively with production, engineering, machinists, and supervisors to resolve fabrication issues and support production requirements. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. Follow all Company safety policies, welding safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable Cal/OSHA requirements. Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality. Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Previous production welding or fabrication experience required. Proficiency in MIG welding required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings, and work instructions. Experience operating fabrication equipment and using measuring tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to follow established safety procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Welding, fabrication, or related vocational/technical training. Additional welding process experience beyond MIG welding.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to: Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday. Lift and move materials or metal components weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier materials moved using assistance or appropriate equipment. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding fumes, dust, sparks, heat, noise, and varying shop temperatures. Occasionally work on ladders, platforms, or in confined spaces while using appropriate safety equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment, including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators when required, and protective clothing. Full-time Work schedule based on production needs Occasional overtime may be required

Pay:
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
