Heiss Welding Inc. is looking for a skilled Welding & Trailer Repair Fabrication Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding repairs, fabricating custom trailer parts, and ensuring the proper maintenance of trailers in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding, trailer repairs, and metal fabrication, as well as the ability to work efficiently with attention to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform welding repairs and fabrication on trailers. Perform welding and repairs on various trailer types, including flatbeds, dump trailers, and more. Replace or repair damaged trailer components, including wheels, brakes, lights, suspension, and electrical systems. Conduct regular maintenance inspections on trailers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards. Use cutting, welding, and fabrication tools to customize or replace trailer parts to customer specifications. Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in welding & fabrication. Proficiency in MIG and other welding techniques. TIG experience a plus. Experience with trailer repairs, including suspension systems, brakes, lights, and frames a plus. Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work with various hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment. Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or similar) are a plus. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with competitive pay. Work in a shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and heat. Physical tasks include lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
Hours & Benefits:
Monday through Friday 8am-6pm & Saturday 8am-12pm Hourly Pay $19.00-$24.00
